Drew Beamer

I build HALO, a platform that routes people to the virtual care that's right for them. I care about code quality and sweating the small decisions most people skip past.

The rest of my time goes to birds — about 1,240 species logged, and I photograph them when I can. At some point the hobby turned into an engineering practice, and most of what I've built started the same way: I ran into something while birding, so I made it.

I also write — about values, design engineering, and the projects above.

  • BirdPin — Hands-free bird logging. Tell Siri what you saw and it becomes an eBird-ready CSV.
  • ScrubJay — A Discord bot that watches for rare birds.
  • rubl — An MCP server wrapping the eBird API, so an agent can plan a birding trip the way you would.
